Crash site of a B-29 Superfortress “Overexposed”
 
The Overexposed is a Boeing RB-29A Superfortress no. 44-61999 that crashed on Shelf Moor, Bleaklow in between Manchester and Sheffield, Derbyshire. It belonged to the 16th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron, 91st Reconnaissance Group, 311th Air Division, Strategic Air Command, USAF.

The Overexposed tragically crashed at about 11am on 3rd November 1948 while descending through cloud. All 13 crew members died

That's amazing. Incredible to see how well-preserved it is. Glad the pikeys haven't got it for scrap yet.

Was jus about to say suprised all that aint been had for scrap! Nicely preserved like. Sayin that its in the middle of fuckin no-where, but still, that dont stop em!

I have wanted to hike to here for a while now , I have a dodgey leg though I will get up there on day though , there are quite a few crash sites up there I found a web site a while ago that had an add on for google earth so it showed where all the sites were located
