Tudor brick with clay pipe inside it

They found this a few years ago at the Timeteam Buckingham Palace dig, a Tudor brick with a broken clay tobacco pipe in it, you can just imagine the person being frustrated breaking their pipe and sticking it in the wodge of clay.
The ultimate find if you are into bricks and smoking memorabilia, I know someone in NWEX who smokes like a chimney and has fallen for bricks in a big way.............

Next photo is a clay pipe bowl I found in the gardens yesterday at Dunham Massey Hall near Warrington. It was just lying there on the surface amongst the rose beds about 100 ft from the hall. It dates to circa 1680-1720 when a lot of landscaping and building work was being carried out.

Lyme's great but murder to get to from Tyldesley, that never ending road out of Stockport is one of a kind!

Aaaaaaaaah you mean High Edge out of Hazelgrove running to Buxton? it is a rather long road I admit.
BTW does anyone know what the fuck that castellated structure is in the middle of the moors above the Chapel to Castleton road?
