ARCHIVE: Carabanchel prison, Spain

Here some pictures of the Carabanchel prison in Madrid.
It is a really huge location.
The building used to remain 2000 male and 500 female prisoners.

After 55 years of duty the prison was closed in 1999.

Now the buidling is 'taken over' by gypsies (they live around the prison), metalthieves, junks, spraypainters and some local youth.
One of these local shitheads threw a big concrete rock at me from the 3th floor, which only missed at 1 meter, so it almost became my last exploration....;-)
So if you are planning to visit this location, you better don't go alone!

More pics on the website.
