Default Alum pot / Long churn cave - N/Yorkshire - April 2011 - 16-04-2011, 23:23

Visited this place a couple of weeks ago with Darwin Dave and AndyJ but didn't take any SRT gear in with us, Today was an attempt to get down the dolly tubs pitch and into Alum pot.

Visited with Buddah.

Not a great deal to say about the place, but it was quite Dry today, dryer than last time, we made our way through the cave, which involves a couple of small climbs down, heading to the top of the dolly tubs, this is then at a gess i would say a 25m decent which brings you half way down into alum pot.

a small climb down onto a ledge, and you can walk round to a bolder which is wadged between the walls, sitting on the bolder maybe 40m in the air is IMO not very plesant, not having a head for hights doesnt really help though.

this is as far as we made it, we only had a 10m hand line and 50m of rope and they were both allready rigged else where to get this far, we needed another rope to get any further down, maybe next time.

a couple of pics.
