Rossendale General Hospital

After nearly a year of attempting to visit this place, everything finally fell into place. Other attempts ended swiftly by being caught from security gaurds with dogs.

The first visit was late at night. Unfortunately, it was too risky to use torches at night, we didn't want security to bust us. We had a quick nosey around and decided to head back during the day.

At the very end of our day visit, we were greeted by a barking dog. The security gaurd asked: "Are you Urbexers?" with my reply being: "What's one of them?" :thumb

The hospital itself is in a sorry state. Clear evidence of 'scrap collecters' being present. None of the less though, it was well worth the wait.

Originally starting life as Haslingden Workhouse in 1868, the site then changed to a hospital in 1912. The site eventually closed in September 2010.

Recreation area for Mental Health patients.

A good explore on both occasions. Be careful of the scouse security gaurds though .
