I live and work nearby (used to live in Brinscall just round the corner as well) and I don't believe for one minute that there are steam trains in there, but this video doesn't prove anything. Lithium was processed at Chorley in the 50's and might have been stored there. So what? Hearsay from locals? Right. What a waste of 12 minutes of my life.
Only thing factual that I've seen is that BAE listed Heapey until recently as magazines (storage areas basically) for Chorley (closed) and Glascoed in Wales (operational). When Chorley shut, I saw an FAQ as part of the consultation documents that said that there were no plans to close Heapey in the short term. If you want hearsay, then I spoke to a colleague who worked at ROF until recently and he said that the old hands there claimed there was a tunnel linking Chorley and Heapey until the M61 was built in the 60's. And I've no more way of proving that than any of the other rumours about the place............
