Default RAF Croft, Croft, Warrington, September 2010 - 02-10-2010, 15:43

History

The base was used by the RAF from 1941 up until the mid 50s when it became tenanted by the USAF as a processing station for Burtonwood airbase (the largest USAF base in the country until it closed), Airmen could fly in to burtonwood then make there way over to croft, here they had resident buildings to stay with your family, a running track, playing feild and even a theater. When the airmen’s stay was up they would go back to burtonwood and get back to work!

The Visit

As pert of my continued road back to full UrbEx I decided to pay a return visit to the site of my first ever explore as its a nice and relaxed place to visit.
