we only went to the top left hand side at a weekend to take a look , we did not come across any signs telling us this was private as the route we took across the slate waste possibly avoids this , don't know as we did not check ! the slate tips are accessible without fence so cutting across and skirting onto the disused side of the quarry , my map reading must become better
the person who took Jake and I down Cwmorthin the next day was very experienced ! he told us the next day apparently they roam around Oakeley with shot guns ! Jakes Dad
