Cressage Shropshire, Hexagonal brick pillbox type 22. There is a identical one the other side of the River Severn behind the trees

Western Command Stop Line No 1 - Line of River Severn from Tewkesbury via Worcester and Bridgnorth to Shrewsbury, and then on to Llandrinio.


couple of none pillbox things near by i passed in Shropshire few weeks back, airfields all over the place in this part of the country

An L type hangar off the western perimeter of the airfield at the former RAF High Ercall, Shropshire. At the end of WW2, there were over 1500 Halifax bombers awaiting scrapping at High Ercall.


RAF Shawbury is a Royal Air Force station by the village of Shawbury near Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

The station at Shawbury was first used for military flying training in 1917 by the Royal Flying Corps, but it was returned to agricultural use in 1920. In 1938 it was reactivated as a training establishment. It primarily prepared pilots for operational squadrons, with the main aircraft being the Airspeed Oxford
