Again, hope the mods don't mind some non-NW stuff

One from last year...11:00, 11-11-2011:

Check wikipedia for the site history...there's a lot of it! Short WWII RAF use then handed over to USAAF in 1942. Very active during the cold war and desert storm after which the airfield was handed back to the MOD. A growing, non-airfield presence is the USAF 423d Air Base Squadron and USAF 501st Combat Support Wing.

Two minutes silence observed outside the original RAF watch office:

Engine testing building:

We'd call it an HAS, they call it a Tab-Vee:

Each Tab-Vee is named. After a fire in 'Oh Johnnie' the SAS used it for a demolition exercise:

Magic Mountain - where all the fun stuff from the U-2's was analysed:

U2 readyness shed. This has a seriously cool door mechanism - think horizontal bi-fold door:

Rear view (taken from the earth banking round the magic mountain)

RAF squadron ops building used by USAF A-10 squadron

Have a LOT more even though it wasn't a good day for photography and there was too much to see!
