Arrow ARCHIVE: Concrete Barges, Lymm, Feb 2010 - 28-02-2010, 22:14

Went down to lymm today for a return to the concrete barges.
The barges are made completely of concrete and are extremely overgrown and are slowly sinking in a quiet corner of the manchester ship canal.
Can't find much history on the barges but i remember Smurf telling me they were from ww11 and something to do with mulberry from when we last went.
Not much there really but my girlfriend wanted to have a look so we decided to go down, worth a look if you're in the area

Some pictures :

Thanks for looking,
Nick

On one of the barges the water is coming right over the front which it wasn't when we went last year!

Who remembers removing the ladder and trying to convince Bugnle that the only way aboard was via a very narrow branch?

Go down about 4.30, I'll be there with some spray paint making the letters larger.

I think we need to do a rooftop so when the next Google Earth plane takes pictures the whole world will know that "Bnugle Touches Dogs".
