Default Cathedral Steps - Dec 10 - 15-12-2010, 23:11

Visited with buddah and Nckt.

A return visit for us, we visited a few months back now. This was originally a trip to take in another nwex member but he couldnt make it in the end. Nckt turned up and said he'd never been... so in we went!

Getting in and out of this place is an adventure in itself! Was great teaching Nckt to use tiblocks for the first time! haha!

Very briefly, and lifted straight from Wiki..
'The Victoria Arches were a series of arches built in the embankment of the River Irwell in Manchester. They served as business premises, landing stages for Steam packet riverboats, and also as World War II air-raid shelters. They were accessed from wooden staircases which descended from Victoria Street.
Regular flooding of the river resulted in the closure of the steam-packet services in the early 20th century, and the arches were used for general storage. In World War II the arches were converted for use as air raid shelters. The arches are now bricked up and inaccessible; the staircases were removed in the latter part of the 20th century.'

Thanks! Looking back at them now, I havent quite got the frames and cropping right on a couple of them! Oh well, It was late and I wanted to go to bed!!

The wide shots are stitched in photoshop, my first successful attempts! Thought the toilet one came out quite well!
