Been off on my hols up to the lakes so couldn't resist a bit of undergound fun. Introduced my nephews to the world of exploring much to their delight.

First off was a small slate mine called Black Hole Slate Quarry.

Small Quarry Building. This was the best of the ones standing on site.

Underground Workings. This led to an adit which was partly blocked so flooded

Next up was what is known as Cathedral Cavern or Cathedral Quarry. Not massive but certainly spectacular

My nephew enjoying the upper workings

Drill markings

The main chamber. This is approx 40ft in height and supported by the main pillar. Lit by natural windows It is to be fair a sight to behold.
