Red Barn Drain - Revisited

Following on from WB's visit to see some more of Manchesters drains...

...We headed on over to Red Barn after having already checking out Sidedraught Induction

Although not all that long, it definately has to be one of the more interesting drains due to it's constant shape changes and transitions from concrete to crumbling victorian brickwork to stone

Access is made somewhat challenging since the Outfall has a locked grilled gate covering it, WB especially liked this feature

Traversing through, the drain continually changes shape along the way, it's very slippy with mineral deposits and in parts real stoopy!

Outfall

RBP - Walking Upstream

Junction

Stoopy

Upstream

Further Upstream - Egg/Blob, A mixture of brick & stone

Junction - Here the drain continues as a shrinking 3ft RBP, No thanks!

The 'Egg' on the left is a sewer overflow which is a real stooper, I've been up before so CBA on this occasion as it's effort

After spending a good while dicking about, we headed back for the daylight of the Outfall

Fail-gate

Climbing out was more of a challenge of 'getting in' Eh WB

....Take pictures and leave ONLY
