Default Barton Aerodrome - 27-05-2012, 23:46

Or City Airport, Manchester was Britains first Municipal airport (built 1928 to 1930) and has (probably) the oldest purpose built control tower in the world still used for it's original purpose. For 60 years it was home to one of the oldest aero clubs in the world, Lancashire Aero Club but they have now moved to Kenyon Hall Farm strip. Northwest Air Ambulance and Greater Manchester Police Air Support Unit are both based at this small, friendy and busy airfield.
