Don't really want into to much history as im not sure what more i can add thats not already been mentioned. One thing i did find out though is the most haunted building in Lancashire is pretty much on the same site for any ghost hunters out there.

visited with blino, just the experience of getting into and out of this place was fantastic trying to avoid the security hiding in bushes and doing plenty of combat roles.
And getting out was made harder by the security parking up straight in front of our entrance/exit.

spent quite a few hours in there mainly as we got lost inside its such a huge site although its in a very bad state.

I couldn't believe the sheer size of this place when we visited! Its huge! We seemed to loose all sense of direction to after a while, which made finding the exit / entry quite interesting!! Its just a shame its so trashed and rotten.

It's a shadow of it's former self. St John's and St. Margret's were demo'd fairly sharpish after their closure and what you see there is just St. Luke's and Cameron House.

I think we walked over the foundations of one of those demolished buildings while going to the nurses quarters - out of all the remaining buildings its in the best condition.

To give you an idea, I have pointed out what remains. Of Course, the water tower still remains but that one is obvious.

As you can see, absolutely loads has gone.

wow amazing to see it like that! shame to see so much gone, and yes it confirms that it was the foundations of the demo'd buildings we walked over (and I nearly fell down a hole in)
