I don't like putting up reports when i've not discovered the site, but I've done so for two reasons:

1) The "finders" don't have cameras that work in the dark
2) The subsequent photos from Spark, Pixie and Bigjobs are going to be better.

I'm only showing a small selection because there are limits to what could be photographed down here (very much like Cathedral Steps) and I want to give everyone a chance to show something good.

Anyway, this place is OUTSTANDING, one of the finest underground structures I've visited for a long while. The caverns are enormous and go on for what seem like hundreds of yards.

Each level of the "pallets" in my photos (actually concrete sleepers) is at least a foot thick, so that should give you some scale.

The underground stream was also a bonus.

I think I have the true name of this place - CRISP DELF MINE.

I found this info:
