Opening in 1839 the salford junction canal was later drained and converted to air raid shelters at the time of the war.
History out of the way (I kept it short, not sure how many are into the history of explores) was a great explore, a really nice underground area of Manchester free of noise and of course the general public!
First we walked right to the end of the run of chambers, on discovering the water we decided to head back to mine to pick up my boat. withing minutes we were down there in pairs sharing the boat, it was tough going and this place sure goes on & on & on! I've been back since this initial explore with waders and been right to the end, it goes a
long way!
Needless to say I hope the others in my group post their photos of this brilliant explore
