Putting this in here as access was scarily easy. Also looks like it was sealed with old rails and concrete at some time, part way in at the point where the following pictures were taken.
Not sure if it's an adit, test tunnel, drainage tunnel, whatever, but it's big enough to walk through (once you're past the strange, half tunnel height concrete step). I Think most "underground" explorers know the history of mining around Ecton so I wont bore you with all that. I only went in as far as about 150 yrds due to being ill equipped (as is usually the case when you stumble upon something like this) and solo, without any sort of air quality monitor. Was a little misty in places, also quite damp underfoot so wellies next time.
If anyone recognises this I'd love more info such as how far/deep etc

Anyway, a few shots to tantalise, anyone interested in a re-visit with more suitable equipment give me a shout.
