Visited with a fellow explorer. I won't go on with history as it has been covered quite a bit. Nice little mooch though.

Croft is one of the most northerly of the airfields built during the Second World War for use by Bomber Command. Construction work started in 1940 and it was developed into a standard bomber airfield with three concrete runways. Known officially as Croft but frequently called Neasham by local inhabitants, the airfield opened in 1941 as a satellite for Middleton St.George.

Nice pictures, but you've got your Croft's mixed up, hope it wasnt you who left a pink umbrella on the gate

nah not mine, was there when we got there, was nice to get urbexing again, have done an explore since a visit to louth in november.

Nice Pics, but this isnt the RAF Croft with an Airfield. It was orgionally a Naval Training facility HMS Gosling, 5 Camps in the Area, and HMS Ariel in Cultcheth.

This is Camp 3, the rest have been bulldozed, with exception to Glazebrook, where the Theatre building still stands, as Glazebrook Conservative Club.

Also at Glazebrook, an origional Radar Training Wall still stands.
