Default Croeser to Rhosydd Through Trip - April 2010 - 26-04-2010, 14:49

Well the plan began with a trip to Wales on the cards. A few places were thrown about and a location was decided. Well kind of .... After a sneaky phone call with Morrisey it was decided to head up to Croeser and do the through trip but not to tell R1

Sunday finally came round and off we all headed to Wales randomly meeting on the A55. 10 am came and we finally arrived at Cwm carpark and got kitted up. The ruse was still in full swing as we headed up the mountain.

Finally finding our way to Croeser we headed into the mine and donned our SRT kit ready for the fun to begin. I didnt get many pics on the fun bits but others did so i will let them tag them on

My pics are mainly from the Rhosydd end

Visited with Carabener, R1, Gibbo, Morrisey, Boboil, Copy Cat and Manx's Credit Card

Heading up past the lake.

I can't thank you guys enough for changing your plans to fool R1, although he claims he knew all along! I've wanted to do this place for ages.

High points (cos I didn't take a camera) - the first abseil, the zip line, the bridges of death, abseiling INTO A BOAT. How fecking cool is that!

Low points - slipping on the slate and being bruised to buggery!

After missing out on this one the last time the gang did it I've been itching to get the
mighty CRTT done.
It was deffinitely worth the wait, its an action packed explore from start to finish from the slog up to the entrance to the abseils to the zip lines to the boats, a true right of passage for any mine explorer.
Big thanks to all involved in this one, R1 wont admit it but he was clueless till half way through
Well done Si you did good
The first abseil

The first boat trip

Zip line

Another zip

Finally the long walk out to daylight

Just to add that three of the group had no idea as to which slate quarry they were in, it was only when Si was safely 2/3rds down the first abseil and with no chance on getting out the way he came in, that i let Gibbo and copy cat know they were on the first drop of the CRTT!

Thanks to Ed and John for being the guides for the day. Plus a big well done to Copy Cat, Gibbo & R1 after being dumped in the deep end.

Gibbo looks worried and the truth dawns for Si that the only way out is onwards
