Default Minffordd Hospital, Bangor - March 2011 - 31-03-2011, 00:24

This place is fairly trashed, but is still worth a look around. I can't find much history on the place at all. Found this place by mistake after avoiding security following another failed attempt at St Mary's site.

Minffordd Hospital was built as the area's infectious diseases hospital as a result of the Bangor typhoid epidemic in 1895 with a number of isolation units. It became a community hospital in recent years, and also housed the Gwynedd Alzheimers Society. The site closed in 2006 and is currently up for sale.

Totally missed a chair if there was one. Yeah, the staff room was full of porn. I suspect that Edus1 had already been to this site and had been up to no good. There was a strange substance all over the walls.

Good work man, and yes Ed will definitely have sprayed his man porridge over those walls in the staff room.

Egregious!

A great set of pics you've taken there. Keep trying with St. mary's site - I'd love to see pics up from there (being a former resident 1997-8 - B-Block). I was there about 18 months ago, just before they put up the steel fencing round the perimeter - only went round the outside of the buildings - was all locked up tight but in very good condition. Got a load of pics from my university days there so would be great to do a then and now comparison on the site!

Cheers mate . Hoping to get in there over the next few days. Difficult to find the time off work at the moment though.

If you get chance, post your university pics up. Would be great to see them
