well. a few lessons learned on this one for myself and cossienick. mainly for me it was about climbing. and just getting the balls up to do it.
no history on this place. its not a massive building, but looked interesting from the road. 3 buildings in total, but we focused on the water tower, and what we guessed was a pumping station.
we used a home made rope ladder for part of the climb. next lesson learned - the rungs were way too far apart, and using the ladder was very difficult. getting in was difficult, so we left the bags behind and just carried torches and my camera. another lesson - not worth bringin a camera to a very dark place without a tripod. so apologies for poor pics.
inside was pretty much knackered so we headed toward the tower. again, amazed by the pigeons. cossienick was pushing them out the way with his hands on the ladders, they just dont want to wake up at 3am!! abother lesson - wear a hat when surrounded by pigeons.
up on the roof we were chilling out for 5 mins. it was really quiet. next, we could hear elephants or buffalo or something, calling out. (bear in mind its next door to knowsley safari park) it was amazing. proper chilled listening to distant beasts!
the last lesson learned was realising we didnt need to struggle with the rope ladder. there was a far easier way in as cossienick discovered when he dropped his torch back down to the floor and went to retrieve it.
oh well, you live and learn!
