Went on a walk along the seafront from the Hotel in Madeira and spied some interesting relics from the clifftop.

I understand that this is the remains of a shipping wharf with associated storage building for the export of Madeira Wine. Surprising that this has survived, as can be seen from the pics it is overlooked by modern hotels & timeshare properties, the Pestano Beach complex being immediately behind it.
(And before you ask, NO we didn't subscribe to the timeshare, although they paid us 50 Euro to look round)
