Arrow ARCHIVE: Processor Drain, Manchester - February 09 Report - 12-02-2009, 21:47

Visited By Sneak & Cooney.

Day off, went for a mooch, down a drain, as ya do..

Turned out to be a mooch and a half this, brick, concrete, silt and lime, roads, pavements, stupid signs, all topped off with a daft cow giving us one hell of a detour.

Anyway, We arrived at our destination and donned the waders. Off into the abbys of the place known as..Processor drain.

Started off as a nice big brick structure, with the combination of a slippy floor and fast flow..not good.

We ventured on up, passing one of the processor rooms. There is what seems a sewer running below the drain we were walking through, and every so often there were big rooms where the sewer could be accessed from, some of the rooms has huge metal machines that had kind of filters on them.

Guessing this is to filter the turd infested water that would overflow up here when problems arrised. Best hope they dont start now when were here...Because it already absolutly stinks. Kinda smells like a mixture of warm bath water with shampoo and wee and poo. Nice.

As we ventured on, we were walking through a new concrete section, with many other rooms in them as with before. One had a huge plastic pipe, bigger than me, running through it, I guess this is the sewer from earlier. Also had another processor machine, this one seemed alot bigger than the previous one though, I was a bit apprehensive to approach it at first.

We carried on and ended up back in a brick pipe, this was was laden with roof dripping material, looked like we had entered the depths of hell. I liked it.

We had gone some miles by now, and we were nackered. Screw this were getting off, places to be, people to see, pop this lid and off we go. Hmm, not so simple as that. After we had lifted the lid, we was in a field somewhere. Absoltuly not a clue..

(Oh and yes, we waited a good 5-10 minuted before we lifted it, to check for cars as best we could. We also lift it slightly, and saw many trees and grass surrounding the lid, this gave us a good inclination we may not be in a road, but, theres always a chance, so be careful!)

We were somewhere in Moston. "Miles away" as many people we asked for directions put it. lol this was not good. 2 guys, walking round Moston, not got a clue where there going....In waders. Picture it now.

About 2 hours later, we found the car. Jesus christ I am not doing that again.

Heres some photos. Hope you think they was worth it
