Default Beelitz-Heilstätten Sanatorium - 30-09-2011, 02:33

It has taken me a while to sort out the abundance of photos I have from my trip. Tonight I'd just about had enough of seeing these sitting on my desktop, so I had to put them up. This is Beelitz-Heilstätten in Brandenburg, Germany, the same place where I stumbled across Vogelsang, the Lost Soviet Town. The Soviets were certainly fond of Brandenburg. Can't say I know a tremendous deal about this place other than it was occupied by the Russians after the war, there was intense fighting here in the service tunnels and it was recaptured several times during the war by both sides. Adolf Hitler was treated here after he was wounded in the Somme. It is an absolutely beautiful complex and actually extends across the whole town of Beelitz. Enjoy.

Thanks for looking.
