Default The River Medlock Culvert - Dec 10 - 29-12-2010, 16:07

Visited with buddah

This section of the culvert has been done before. Located near Sport City, it was our first trip here. A trip to Big Humpty will be on the cards too soon I think.

The culvert is of brick construction with newer sections to the openings at each end. A stone 'toe path' runs down each side of the river once inside but its partially submerged in places. There a sort of waterfall further downstream with a nice arch detail and steps the whole length of the waterfall.

Was a nice mooch, quite difficult to light.. kind of made me realise that I need a bigger torch!
