Default Big Covert Cave - 04-06-2012, 13:58

I've only found one previous visit to this site on here as seen in this link

Big covert cave is approx 80m long in it's total lengh, the entrance is low but opens up into a chamber big enough to stand up in. Following this is a 30m long passage leading down a 30 degree incline into what is known as the "fifty yard chamber" From here 2 smaller passages head off into the "bone chamber" and the "mine adit"

Due to the wet conditons and poor footwear choice I did not go down to the fifty yard chamber so will have to return at some point to go all the way down. I will probably leave the "exploradog" at home next time.

"exploradog" checking the entrance

"Exploradog" comes with her own torch

Entrance chamber

Down into the dephs of the earth

And that is as far as I got.

I've been doing a few trips to the caves around here with my daughter. A great resource for them here:
