Default Starkerley Culvert, bolton. April 2011. - 09-04-2011, 18:27

As usual, cossienick spotted this on his travels. last night was actually our 3rd visit. the first was a quick recce to see what it was. we found a large shaft that dropped about 60ft to a stream below. as this was a working site, the entrance was locked, and there was security and cameras too. the 2nd time we visited, we got in and down to the stream at the bottom. we didnt have cameras and only myself had wellies.
so, last night we were 3 times lucky. security man was actually on site last night so we had to be descreet. i explained what this meant to cossienick after he light painted the whole of the inside of the shaft. lol.
our second visit would have been a better time for a write up though, as they seem to be coming to the end of the refurbishment, and the big tools, like the mini digger that was 65ft underground, have gone. though, they must have known we were coming as they left the lights on for us hahaha. still plenty to see and photograph...

the site in bolton...
