Default Cannon St Baptist Church - Nov 6 2010 - pic heavy! - 06-11-2010, 20:01

Situated in Accrington, this grade II listed building opened in 1874, costing £12,000. Sitting opposite from the famous Accy Con Club
It closed it's doors in 2006 when it merged with Christ Church off Manchester Road. The building went up for auction in 2008 for £400,000

And was allegedly supposed to be turned into 16 apartments. Apparantly planning permission wasn't granted and it is sitting empty in a

delapodated state.

My first decent explore in a while, and my first submission here in a long time!
This was a new and interesting explore for me, the first time I've ever gone to a building with permission to look around!

As you enter you are greeted with a very "28 days later" stair case...

And a small lobby area

An organ, in a sorry state...

The "main hall" and what would have been the alter

I was excited hoping the dark wooden area on the left was the confessional booth... Turned out to be a cupboard :(

The red lid lifted to reveal... an old turd...

First time I've seen a urinal that hasn't been smashed to bits! Strangely... it was in a cubicle!

Classic architecture sneaking through the breeze blocks

More loft space... with signs of squatting...

View down into the library

No idea where that door goes...

Looks interesting though...

The treacherous cellar steps...

It's obviously the bell tower, I'd have loved to have gone up...

The "Pigeon room"

No idea where this leads...
