Default ARCHIVE - ICI Gathurst December 08 - 07-12-2008, 19:36

The Robrite works at Gathurst has been producing explosives since 1888, once
owned by ICI explosives division it was sold to Austrailian company Orica who are now
running the site down with a plan to sell the land for houses.
Theres some interesting bits & bobs including a narrow gauge railway line .
The bridge over the canal & river was demolished in 1982.
The site is still being used on a small scale & there is security.
Explored with Mr Morrisey.

Probably nothing more sinister than the Laundry equipment, would imagine the workers overalls would need to have all traces of explosives removed from them and that this task was carried out onsite.
