i have seen a few posts about disused railway signalboxes well for a change heres afully working active box that i get to visit every day enjoy !
start up stairs with the operating floor complete lever frame .
lever colours are
white spare
yellow distant or repeater signal
red stopsignal
blue/black motor points
along the block shelf we see the reset button for the axle counters in disley tunnel .
the phone consentrator
illuminated track diagramme
block bells to hazelgrove & chinley
acceptance indicator for chinley
block instruments for newmills central
and lastly the signal bulb failure panel
train arrived buzzers for up main & romily lines
a welwyn release for the newmills central block instruments
signal and points indicators plus redundant point heater switches
leverframe from opposite end
and signal wire adjusters
now we move underneath to some of the more grubby bits
leverframe with elcrical locks
signalwire links from levers to the wire adjusters
angle cranks for now disconected point rodding
now some externals
an empty stone train for tunstead passes a ferry wagon train bound for warrington
two stone trains pass on the junction of the romiley and hazel grove lines
and lastley sunset over the swizzels sweet factory would love to "visit " here .
