Default Holme bank chert mine - 31-07-2011, 00:04

Visited with reddood and andyj

What a fantastic mine! far more to it than i expected and im pretty sure than everyone else expected. This place is full of history and so much of it is intact.

I believe its actually two mines Holme bank the lower mine which we entered through and Holme hall the higher mine which we briefly exited through for a few pics. We then went back in as andy was keeping a survey going and believed he'd found another connecting passage back down to holme bank other than the one we came up, which turned out right.

The history is very well covered here
http://nwex.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5...ght=holme+bank i cant really add any more to it.
