Is montcliffe quarry operational again now, looks like the diggers have moved back in?

Big issue is that Armstrongs have had issues before http://www.bheag.co.uk/2010/09/armstrongs-fire-2/
the current town of Horwich often suffers from a smell from the current tip

IS there any more up-to-date information on the outcome of the quarries? It seems that the last updates were late 2011 and we're now in mid-2012.


It never had existed.

I contested planning permission to put the quarries back into use, they keep sending me updates saying it is going to the planning department in bolton as it was denied in horwich, not heard anything since which is why i was surprised to see the diggers in there.

There's no doubt in my mind that they'll get the permission (if they haven't already) whether it's through legitimate measures or not.

theres definitely something happening at Montcliffe, it has brand new pallisade along the front
