Default ARCHIVE: Textile Mill S. - 30-07-2010, 21:12

The history of this spinning mill goes back to 1750.
One of the oldest buildings which is still standing was build in1828, and was extended with a 3th floor in 1879.
Part of the village around the mill was also build by the factory where the workers of the factory could live.
Today its difficult to imagine, but in these days several generations worked here their whole life.
In 1843 the factory provided the whole village of gaslamps, 2 in every house and 4 in the shop and lamps on the roads,
and in 1919 it was all replaced by electricity.
After survived 2 industrial era's the factory closed in the late 1980's.
