too many nettles too :( Acesss to the house itself is piss easy, more holes than a soggy teabag - just don't do what we did and find the easy way on the way out

Looks so fun!

We're looking to explore here this weekend...

What was the place like in itself? Any security around?

Loving the owl picture! x

Yet another top day out and if I recall it was boiling and I was suffering from hay fever, traipsing through miles of fields and forests didn't really help either. This place needs a re-visit very soon, an absolutely stunning building on a massive scale. It's such a shame to see these "proper" buildings get in such a state. Entry to the building was comical, with me actually overcoming my fear of heights for about 4 minutes 38 seconds - anyway here are my pictures, a couple were point and shoot so apologies, need to go back for externals and to explore other parts we didn't get to see.

It's not in the best of health now with the top floors now coming down.

However, plans are afoot to hopefully save the old girl. A few others and myself have been involved with meetings with some interested parties that would see the hall brought back to it's former glory, if all goes to plan.

The BBC are looking to include it in a forth coming series about country houses.
