I dident expect this mine to be so big since it only had quite small spoil heaps outside but later read that it produced 'slab' which was taken down the tramway via Deeside slab quarry for processing elswhere. The mine operated between 1860's & 1960's after which time all of the origional adits were blocked up leaving only the air shaft as a access point. I think tere were 7 levels inside the mine & the caverns were huge. IT could easily take a whole day to explore the mine completely.
