Arrow Exxon Mobil Blending - Birkenhead - Oct 2011 - 16-10-2011, 18:07

Since 1994 ExxonMobil has operated the fuel storage and truck load-out facilities at Birkenhead Terminal jointly with Shell, who supply their own refined products by ship into the terminal.

The terminal houses large refined product storage tanks with a storage capacity of over 60 million litres. At the terminal's truck fill stand up to 6 trucks can be loaded simultaneously with the various fuels stored at the terminal.

Thanks for looking...

This place has fascinated me for years, would really love to get inside...has been an eternity since I've been anywhere so if anyone is up for it let me know, from this Friday will be child free for 2 weeks so plenty of opportunities!

Nice photos. It's fairly knackered to be honest, anything of worth has gone along with the pikies.

Nice that there was some of the works still there and it's not stripped out yet. Nice series of photos also.

Near where I work in the states are two huge refineries that may be shutting down. Sad because it is thousands of jobs -- but for good or for ill I'm thinking about how great it would be to get in there.

Sometimes I think we are photographic vultures, lol...
