Default ARCHIVE - Edlington Tunnel - Conisbrough, Jan 10 - 18-01-2010, 20:10

Visited with Gibbo after heavy night drinking ha ha.

What I love about this tunnel is how it changes from brickwork back to stone. From what i understand its an old Victorian tunnel that supplied Conisbrough however it became outdated when modern day methods came into play. The tunnel is in rather good condition however the area around the air shafts is a bit moody and got tight in some places. The last of the air shafts becoming home to spiders and some rather small frogs. Tunnel is about 1290 yards and was a good walk. The tunnel comes out onto Conisbrough viaduct, place im sure will get visited again.

Pictures are a mixture of mine and Gibbo's, although suspect more are his then mine.

You know, you really should keep a personal log. Why bore others needlessly?
