Default Lost Soviet town, Brandenburg - 18-09-2011, 00:41

Situated deep in the Brandenburg woodland are the decaying ruins of a former Soviet town. I went to this place solo and didn't regret it, the atmosphere was superb. Unfortunately, I know extremely little about this place other than that it once had a population of 15,000. Nuclear weapons were stored here. There was, like a typical Soviet town, a gym, palace of culture, school, and other facilities for the workers and residents.

Sadly, I had to 'flee' the site early, no security, no people for miles actually (the train station was abandoned). Just a huge downpour, thunder, lightning, and wolves! The train station was a 40 minute walk away through a very eerie forest that just didn't seem to end. A memorable day for sure... Enjoy.

Hope you like.

Loving those Soviet murals and friezes. As for the wolves, that's something you don't tend to encounter on UKL explores, in my experience!
