Default The Antonov AN-2 Squadron - 31-10-2010, 21:06

Standing parked on a former military airport, these 8 Antonov AN2 bi-planes are slowly rotting away.
Probably the lack of money is the reason nothing is happening with them.

The AN2, designed by Oleg Antonov during WW2.
It was used as a light utility transport, parachute drop aircraft, agricultural work and many other tasks
suited to this large slow-flying biplane.
Its slow flight and good field performance make it suited for short, unimproved fields,
and some specialized variants have also been built for cold weather and other extreme environments

Lovely stuff cant believe there still there

I have a great book from when i was in Poland which documents European Airfield through the eyes of the invading german army and it shows all the planes vandalised by the Germans as they were souvenir hunting.

Please tell me you at least tried to start them

You know, you really should keep a personal log. Why bore others needlessly?
