Default Beetham Tower West, Liverpool (Nov 2011) - 28-11-2011, 23:43

Took 2 trips here, first with the_kwan. We dressed semi-smart instead of ripped explorer gear, no camera bags etc showing, made our way to the roof, spent about 45 minutes taking photos, but most didnt turn out as the wind was just too strong. Me and paul then went on to have a couple of bottles of peroni gold each in the 34th floor bar. Went back for a 2nd visit with the_kwan again, and Image Hound. It was still really windy, but not as bad as lat time! Really enjoyed both visits, but such a shame about the wind, could have gotten much better photos. Thanks goes out to Gone :thumb

Description
With a spire height of 140 metres (459 ft) and 40 floors, West Tower is Liverpool’s tallest building, the 18th tallest in the United Kingdom (third tallest outside of London) and the 83rd tallest in the European Union. The building commands views across the city, over the Mersey to the Wirral and as far as Blackpool on a clear day. The first five floors are the new headquarters for the Beetham Organization and the remaining floors, apart from the 34th, have been divided into luxury apartments and penthouses.

The 34th floor is home to Britain's highest restaurant, Panoramic. This floor is completely clad in a clear glass perimeter offering diners views of the city of Liverpool and further afield.

Amazing! Last time I remember this was with Snappel before it was even open to the public, days gone by..! Great to see it again. Andy, remember that photo we took in the Orangery of Beetham Manchester.. or rifling through the plans for Mr Simpsons pad before it even had walls!
